Three hundred and sixty metres of cobbles at 12.9%, with a stretch at 20%, on a road that was laid for the race in 1986. It comes 3 km after the Oude Kwaremont in the Ronde van Vlaanderen finale and is the last climb of the day, which is why it is where the race is usually decided. Short enough to ride in the big ring if you have the legs, and long enough to find out that you do not.
