The climb from Bellagio to the chapel of the Madonna del Ghisallo, patroness of cyclists, is 8.6 km at 5.5% to 754 m, with the steepest section in the first 3 km above the lake. The chapel holds the bikes and jerseys of a century of racing, and the Giro di Lombardia has climbed to it most years since 1919.
