The road over the Bonette is the highest paved through road in France, and the loop around the summit reaches 2,802 m. From Jausiers it is 24 km at 6.6%, long and even through the high pasture, with the final loop around the peak steepening to 10%. The Tour has crossed it five times; in 2024 it was the highest point of the race.
