The Cauberg climbs 1.2 km at 5.8% out of Valkenburg to the plateau above, wide and paved, with a steepest section around 12% in its middle third. Not hard in itself; hard because of what it is in the Amstel Gold Race, where it is climbed three times and where the race has been decided on the final ascent more often than on any other helling in Limburg.
