From Argelès-Gazost the Soulor climbs 19.5 km at 5.2% to 1,474 m, easy through the valley and then steep for the final 8 km, where the road climbs the open hillside above Arrens. On its own a col in its own right; more often the approach to the Aubisque, 10 km further along the Cirque du Litor.
